Typical pricing for calves is $3,000 to $10,000 depending on their color, sex and presence of dwarf gene. If for some reason, we are unable to provide you a strong, healthy calf, then we will return your deposit or you can roll it forward to the next breeding. A $400 deposit will hold your spot in line. It’s easy and we’re here to support you as you learn more. Now that we’ve been blessed by this opportunity to have and raise mini highlands, what better thing to do than share this with you… the mini cow enthusiast. We handle them daily as they grow up so they will enjoy your attention when you get them home. They’ve been raised like pets, so they come when called and like to be pet/brushed/bathed. We’ve even joked about taking him trick or treating or to the local park. He loves to be scratched on his chin and will lead about quietly. Our bull, Captain Jack Sparrow, is especially tame. They are such cute teddy bears! They are very friendly and docile. That’s when we found minis, and the mini highlands in particular.

And neither of us was looking forward to full size cows breaking our nice, new horse fencing. Penny has enjoyed cattle, but has a soft spot and didn’t see us raising cattle for meat consumption.
That’s when we fell in love with mini cows.īud has always wanted to raise cattle since growing up and visiting his grandpa’s cows in rural New Jersey. Next, we fostered some alpacas, but we were looking for something more. We were looking for an agricultural hobby and we found out that mini cows were a thing! Previously, we had been haying our fields, but it took up too much time, was a lot of hard work and my husband is allergic to the hay.
